Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering of NMIMS has produced the winners of the Google Online Marketing Challenge for the second time in a row.

Under the guidance of Prof. Shilpa Sawant, the team of Aniruddha Pandhare, Devarsh Ganatra, Urvi Talaty, Dhananjay Thaker, Akash Pandey and Rini Antony, Third year MBA (Tech) students, have become the first team to have won in all the three categories of GOMC since its inception. This year more than 2100 teams with over 500 professors and 10,000 students from more than 60 countries competed in the challenge.

The awards won by Team MPSTME are:

  1. Asia Pacific winners of the AdWords Business Award
  2. Asia Pacific winners of the Google+ Social Media Marketing Award
  3. 2nd place winner of AdWords Social Impact Award

The Google Online Marketing Challenge provided the team the platform to partner with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratishthan, a non-profit trust based in Aurangabad. Through the trust’s Dr. Hedgewar Hospital, the team helped to make `a difference to society by raising awareness and funds to transform the lives of the poor and needy in the drought prone ‘Marathwada’ region of Maharashtra. They tackled one of the most sentimental human issues in the country-farmer suicides, with a professional approach which ultimately synergized the efforts of an NGO, a university, and a corporate giant.

As part of their award, $10,000 will be donated to the trust and the team will be invited to visit the Asia Pacific Google Head Quarters in Singapore to interact with executives.
