Skilled technicians with multi-tasking abilities have bright future – Khalid Khan

He was addressing graduating students as Chief Guest on Graduation Ceremony of Center for Textile Function (CTF) at NMIMS Mukesh Patel Technology Park, Shirpur.

Mr. Khan advised  graduating students to grasp the principles that govern their lives, define a set of values to live by, cultivate a love for work and technology and giving back to society. Further he praised CTF for conducting GET program on Automation and optimization in man made fiber production Technology. He said that industries are using more and more automation in every engineering  field, and need skilled technicians with multi tasking abilities which are acquired with practical experience in automated machinery.

The Graduation Ceremony of Center for Textile Functions was held on 4th October 2016 at S. M. Patel Memorial Hall. Total 56 Students of Diploma in Textile Technology Semester and Trimester were conferred Diploma.

The presence of Shri. Bhupeshbhai Patel Nominee of Chancellor NMIMS & Joint President-SVKM, and Shri Tapanbhai Patel, Trustee-SVKM added glory to this grand day. Dr. Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor NMIMS SVKM, Shri Rajgopal C Bhandari, Executive Committee Member SVKM, Dr. Ram Gaud, Director-NMIMS Shirpur and Dr. P. P. Raichurkar Associate Dean, Center for Textile Functions, NMIMS, Shirpur were present for conferring a diploma certificates to passed out students.

Vice Chancellor of NMIMS, Dr. Rajan Saxena, said that “SVKM Institution has created its own  identity on the basis of  expertise and quality of their students”. NMIMS secures its place among the first five reputed institutes in India. This achievement of  NMIMS is due to the work done under the leadership of Shir Amrishbhai Patel and Bhupesh Bhai Patel.

Dr. Ram Gaud, Director, NMIMS Shirpur Campus delivered welcome address and also counselled  students to do the hard work to achieve success in professional life. He also expressed  his happiness about students placement good position in reputed industries.

4Dr. P. P. Raichurkar shared the journey of Centre for Textile Functions since its inception, its Vision and Mission. He shared that the CTF was started with the great vision of  Shri Amrish Bhai Patel to provide employment to the rural youth in and around Shirpur. His mission in life is to improve the productivity of the agro-products Viz cotton etc. Center for Textile Functions was founded in 2007, and today we are celebrating 6th graduation day of Diploma in Textile Technology (DTT). Our institute adopted concept of “See and learn and work and learn” methodology, which is grooming our students to face the emerging challenges in the Textile Industry. He advised graduating students to work sincerely, make their reputation in corporate world and help their juniors in completing industrial training.  The textile industries situated in Shirpur and nearby region supports us to develop practical knowledge and technical skills in our students. These industries are playing  important role in the success of  Textile Education under NMIMS . The highly qualified and industry experience teaching staff of CTF is doing all efforts for development of our students. Faculties had published 130 papers in National and International  journals and 48 papers in conferences, most of the papers are based on the research work done by students under the guidance of senior Industry Mentors and staff of the Institute.

CTF’s quarterly publication International Journal on Textile Engineering and Processes (IJTEP) was released also released on this occasion. IJTEP contains a wide range of research papers covering different spectrum of textile manufacturing and helps to develop a new breed of entrepreneurs and research scholars who are oriented for innovative work in Textile Industry.

Mr. Bhupesh R Patel released the Course Book on GET Program of ‘Automation in Man Made fibre Production technology’ conducted by CTF at BOSCH Rexorth Laboratory for newly joined trainees of AYM Syntex Ltd.

During the ceremony, Kuldip Pawar and Wasim Shaikh were awarded with gold medal for securing first rank, while Gayatri Patil was awarded with silver medal for securing second rank from DTT Trimester batch. Nimisha Baheti was awarded with gold medal and Sharukh Patel was awarded with silver medal for securing first and second rank from DTT Semester batch.

The Graduation ceremony was attended by more than 300 guest and parents, 50 industry executives of Shirpur and nearby industry including Mr. Yogesh Bahandari, M.D.-Yogi Cotex, Mr. Nitin Agrawal, Vice Chairman-PSSGL Mr. Kamlesh Agrawal, M.D.-Mahacot, Mr. Janak Patel, M.D.-Pramukh Cotex, Mr. S. N. Kuchal,Executive Director-Dessan Group, Mr. R. C. Giri, President-PSSGL, Dr. Ashitava Purkashta, Vice President-PSSGL Dyeing Unit, Mr. Thanki, Q.A. Manager-Deesan Group, Mr. Mayur Mehta Q.C. Manager-Deesan Group etc.
