Team Old Monkers wins Ptak Prize Global Challenge


NMIMS, School of Business Management, Mumbai witnessed a giant leap when the students of the institute were declared Global winners of 2016 Ptak Prize Global Challenge. B-School and Young Professionals from 13 countries participated for prestigious Ptak Prize held by International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA).

The 2016 Ptak Prize Global Challenge winning team “Team Old Monkers” from NMIMS Mumbai comprised of Kaushik Agate and Tanmay Ajmera (both from MBA -1st Year).

The competition was held through tough elimination rounds at India level. Participants had to submit online the presentation on the topic of “Reinventing Indian Supply Chain” to compete in the first round. The five shortlisted teams were required to present their solution in front of eminent judges with experience in diverse fields of supply chain and logistics.  Mr. Sandeep Chatterjee – Associate Director, KPMG and Mr. Abhishek P. Rao, Head – e-Delivery at Godrej Nature Basket were the judges.

The India finals were conducted by OPTUMIZ at its flagship event OPTITUDE’2016 on 20th November, 2016. Five teams across India participated in the India Finals round at NMIMS Mumbai campus.  Two teams were selected to finally present to claim Asia Finalist position in India.

Team Old Monkers from NMIMS Mumbai was awarded with Asia finalist position to compete in Global event held at Las Vegas on 10th December 2016. Team BenchmarkerZ from NITIE, Mumbai were the Asia Runners up in India country round and challenges at the Global Round.

Globally the case competition theme was  “Case of missing pieces”.

In this global talent hunt, Team Old Monkers from NMIMS, Mumbai proved supreme to claim 1st ranking in 2016 Ptak Prize Global Challenge organised by The Ptak Prize, ISCEA and SCNext, USA.

ISCEAISCEA and SCNext are global leaders in  supply chain education, training, recognition and events.  They connect Young Professionals and students with eminent supply chain professionals – organisations  across globe to promote supply chain and operations as a career. The platform helps explore newer opportunities and trending concepts in an everchanging global scenario.

ISCEA Ptak Prize – Supply Chain Case Competition organised by The Ptak Prize encourages University Student Members and  Young Business Professionals to participate at the Supply Chain Case Competition. The 2016 winners will be felicitated at ISCEA SCTech Show 2017 ( Global Supply chain event) to be held at Mexico in June 2017.
