NMIMS Kirit P Mehta School of Law places 47 students of its first batch

The Kirit P. Mehta School of Law (KPMSOL) of NMIMS Deemed-to-be-University, which was established in 2013 with an aim to provide quality legal education, has announced the successful placement season for the first passing out batch.

Dr. Alok Misra, Dean of KPMSOL informed that “The interest of each student was mapped with his/her abilities and specialization and the placement opportunities were provided accordingly. The Placement Cell’s unique robust corporate engagement model strengthened the confidence of the Law Firms & Corporate Houses in K.P.M. School of Law and that has resulted in achieving a successful placement for the academic year 2017-18.”

Out of the batch of 59 students, 44 students participated in the Placement process. 25 students received Pre-Placement Offers from Tier 1 Law firms/Corporate houses and 15 students got Campus Placements from top companies and law firms. From the passing out batch, 7 students registered themselves for LL.M. with foreign universities and 8 students have started their Independent Practice in different parts of the country.

“The Highest Package offered is Rs. 16 Lacs per annum and the Average Package offered is Rs. 6 Lacs per annum.” Dr. Mishra added.

Ms. Chetana Lal, Head of the Placement Cell informed that We achieved nearly 100% Placements for its First passing out LL.B. batch i.e. Batch of 2013-18.

She further informed that “Nearly 126 law firms and corporate companies provided Short Term & Long Term Internships to our students. The Placement Cell organised Guest Lectures, conducted Soft Skill Training, Mock Interview Sessions, Mentorship programmes, Workshops on personality development, interview tips and techniques which made the student’s placement ready.”

As per placement report of the KPM School of Law, 25 organisations including 19 law firms, 6 companies hired graduates from the law schools while 7 others received LLM offers. Wadia Ghandy picked up 4 graduates, Khaitan & Co, IC Universal Legal and Integreon picked up 3 graduates each, and law firms J Sagar Associates (JSA), AZB & Partners, Juris Corp and Aurus Legal and companies Nomura and Phoenix ARC each picked up 2 graduates.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Amazon, Bharucha & Partners, Samvad Partners, Khaitan Legal Associates, Oasis Counsel & Advisory, Saffron Broadcast and Media Pvt. Ltd., Zerick Dastur, Advani & Co., Kanga & Co., V.A. Associates, Vidhi Partners, Veritas Legal and Edelweiss were the other big names among the list of final recruiters from the batch picking 1 student each.
