The Conference Board of Canada delegation visits NMIMS for a prospective collaboration
Mumbai, 9 February 2019:
With an intention to discuss the impending challenges and indispensability of higher education in creating a cohesive society, ‘The Conference Board of Canada’, an independent, not-for-profit organization comes together with NMIMS.
The constructive session witnessed Provosts and Vice-Presidents of 8 Canadian Universities and distinguished peers of NMIMS share interesting insights on higher education and its importance in shaping the future as a whole. Dr. Rajan Saxena (Vice Chancellor, NMIMS) elaborated on how India is at the cusp of a revolution and NMIMS, with its strong credentials, has the vision to identify appropriate strategies to deliver success stories.
Dr. Matthew McKean (Associate Director Education, The Conference Board of Canada) shared the significance of national and international trends pertaining to higher education and how both the countries can foster a mutually-beneficial partnership. With the help of simple, yet discerning data Mr. Amitabh Jhingan (Partner – EY Parthenon) gave an interesting perspective to showcase how private sector can significantly propel higher education.
The conference deliberated on a multitude of issues and on a closing note, the leaders were unanimous in their belief that by coming together in the future, it’s possible to carve a space which will create leaders thereby benefiting the entire ecosystem. The 8 Canadian Universities that were part of the delegation will now look to tie-up with 16 schools and 9 centers of excellence of NMIMS.
