The untimely demise of Steve Jobs, creative visionary and Apple Co-Founder has brought to the fore the impact and power that one individual, and his creativity, could render to the human race at large. A great exemplar, he was the one responsible for giving technology a human touch and feel, putting a computer and music in every pocket- thanks to the ipad and the iphone, and making even the sceptics believe in the magic of technology.
NMIMS –a name synonymous with management education- has been making rapid strides in the field of technology management and engineering. MPSTME, offering its programs at the twin campuses of Mumbai and Shirpur, seeks to fill the gap in quality education in the engineering and technology management streams.
The September edition of Spandan showcases the Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering. Featured herein are articles which seek to demystify technology to the layman. Read on to know how you can make your password more secure, the solution to the increasing green house emissions in the form of the hybrid car; decide for yourself which is the stronger contender for the ‘ King of the Hi-Tech ‘ crown-Microsoft or Apple; the new ‘ Technology on the block’ “WiTricity”, which offers you ‘ Instant freedom’ from wires et al.
We also bring to you the latest news and goings-on at various Schools in NMIMS-the SBM with its faculty and student achievements, the first batch of students to receive their PhD degrees at the School of Science, the industry experts as also international academicians visiting the School of Economics and the alumni meet initiated at our NMIMS, Hyderabad campus.
In keeping with the spirit of the MPSTME Special, this edition is being designed and technically executed by the MPSTME team under the guidance of Dr. Sunil Rai. Dr. Vijay Raisinghani, Prof. Ketan Shah and Prof. Kiran Desai , together with the student team have contributed in no small measure to this edition of Spandan.
