Mumbai, xx May 2021: Dr. Divya Shrivastava, Associate Dean & Associate Professor, NMIMS School of Performing Arts, has been conferred with the prestigious Glory of India Award by India International Friendship Society (IIFS), in recognition of her exemplary performance and outstanding services in the field of music in India and abroad. The award was presented by Mrs. Sasikalapushpa Ramaswamy, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, in the presence of eminent educationists and members of the media fraternity, at a seminar on Economic Growth & National Integration. The ceremony was held at India International Centre, New Delhi.
Speaking about the recognition, Dr Divya Shrivastava said, “I am thrilled as well as humbled by this honor, and to join this club of eminent personalities who have contributed immensely towards the welfare of society at global level, and who continue to glorify the name of our country. I am grateful to all my colleagues and associates who have been helped me in my professional journey.”

The Glory of India Awards (also known as the “Bharat Jyoti Awards”) are presented annually to professionals from diverse fields, to recognize their extraordinary contribution in their respective fields. Past recipients of the award include eminent personalities like Late Mother Theresa, former Vice President B.D. Jatti, South African politician Amichand Rajbansi, scientist Prem Chand Pandey, ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas, spiritual leader and author Kamlesh Patel, classical vocalist Dr. Bharati Vaishampayan, legends like Dev Anand, Sunil Dutt and Rajesh Khanna, and many other leading personalities from around the world.

While BA Music (Western Contemporary Music) offers specializations in drums, guitar, piano and vocals, BA Music (Indian Music) offers specializations in vocals and sitar.
