Theme: Equations of Discovery – Applications of Mathematical Science in Business

The symposium began with an inauguration by Prof. D. T. Shirke, Vice-Chancellor of Shivaji University, followed by an address by Dr. Sushil Kulkarni and Prof. Sunil Shirvaiker, emphasizing the event’s significance.

Keynote Address – Prof. D. T. Shirke
He underscored the role of mathematics in AI, encouraging students to deepen their mathematical understanding for better AI implementation and continuous learning.

Discovery Dialogue – Mr. Vivek Khanvilkar (VP, Sun Pharma)
He highlighted the impact of data-driven decision-making in pharmaceutical marketing, explaining how data analytics optimizes business strategies, sales tracking, and inventory management.

Panel Discussion – Transitioning from Campus to Corporate
Alumni shared insights on soft skills, technical learning, corporate adaptability, stress management during placements, and long-term success strategies.

Talk – Mr. Arun Dalvi (Deputy VP, M2P Fintech)
Discussed Fintech advancements using AI, ML, and blockchain for fraud detection, credit scoring, and real-time analytics. He emphasized essential technical skills like Python, SQL, and cloud computing.

Talk – Mr. Sourav Saha (Data Scientist, Deloitte)

Explored AI and Generative AI’s transformative role in supply chain management, including predictive forecasting, procurement optimization, and warehouse management.

Trackwise Poster Presentation

There were a total of 40 poster presentations, of which 22 were from external participants. All posters were categorized into the following tracks:

  1. Applied Statistics & Data Analytics – Explored regression analysis, time-series forecasting, and extreme value theory.
  2. Data Science & AI – Projects focused on LLMs, NLP, ML, and DL applications.
  3. Computational Mathematics – Showcased advanced mathematical theories with real-world applications.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding research contributions of the participants, efforts of the organizing committee and volunteers.
