“Unless our studies align with market forces and requirements, our education will not sustain,” said Shri E.V. Narsimha Reddy IAS, CEO of the Industry and Investment Cell and SPEED, and Managing Director of Musi River Development Corporation Ltd (MRDCL), at the NMIMS UG Convention 2025, Jadcherla Campus, Hyderabad.
He highlighted the rapidly evolving job landscape, citing a NASCAM study that predicts 41% of companies may downsize employees, putting 300 million jobs at risk. “Artificial intelligence may be a boon, but sometimes it is very dangerous,” he said. “Do not worry, AI will also create new jobs in every field. India alone will see about 20 million emerging jobs. To seize these opportunities, you need the right skills. While faculty support may be limited, you are fortunate to have vast information at your fingertips, use it to keep updating yourself.”
Degrees were conferred upon graduates from the Schools of Pharmacy and Technology Management, Law, and Commerce during the convocation, which also marked institutional milestones. Dr. Ashwini Deshpande, Director in charge, NMIMS Hyderabad, emphasized the institution’s commitment to preparing students for the future. “At NMIMS, we continue to serve society through health camps, awareness drives, and active student-led clubs. Our students have excelled in national competitions, while faculty research and industry collaborations strengthen learning outcomes. Leading organizations like Dell, Invesco, and DTO Insurance recruited our graduates this year,” she said. “We hope our graduates become not just successful professionals, but compassionate leaders who use their skills and knowledge to create a better world. Go forth and make your mark, we believe in you!”
Reflecting on government initiatives, Mr Reddy shared, “Last year, we introduced AI education from class one to help children understand future requirements. Public policy must prepare the next generation for emerging technologies.”
Emphasizing India’s growth ambitions, including the Honourable Prime Minister’s vision of a 5 trillion dollar economy and the Chief Minister’s focus on a 1 trillion dollar economy, he concluded, “In the real world, India is already at the fifth position; we want to go into the third position. Be proud to be a graduate, but only if you are fully equipped with skills and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to the nation.”
