Navi Mumbai, August 2025 – SVKM’s NMIMS Navi Mumbai held its Annual Convocation in August 2025, celebrating the accomplishments of its graduating students across multiple schools. The ceremony combined academic pride and reflections on the university’s role in preparing industry-ready professionals.
The event welcomed Mr. Mangesh Surve, Senior Director – Solution Architect & Tech Sales, Red Hat, as the Chief Guest, alongside NMIMS Navi Mumbai’s leadership team, faculty, and the families of graduating students. The convocation opened with the academic procession, lighting of the lamp, and the NMIMS anthem. Following the formal declaration of the convocation’s commencement, the Nominee of the Hon’ble Chancellor, felicitated Mr. Surve with a bouquet and a memento. The Director’s address highlighted the school’s achievements, academic progress, and milestones during the 2024–25 academic year.
Degrees were awarded to students from the School of Technology Management & Engineering, School of Mathematics, Applied Statistics & Analytics, School of Commerce, School of Hospitality Management, School of Economics, School of Science, and School of Law.
Insights on Leadership and Innovation
Dr. Arun Sharma, Director of NMIMS Navi Mumbai, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the institution’s vision, accomplishments over the past year, and dedication to academic excellence and holistic development. He expressed that seeing the students grow into confident and capable professionals is the most rewarding part of their journey as educators. He acknowledged that this year the students had demonstrated excellence, creativity, and a commitment to making a difference both on campus and beyond. As they step into the next chapter, he encouraged them to carry forward not only the knowledge they had gained but also the values of integrity, curiosity, and social responsibility. He expressed confidence that they were ready to make a meaningful impact on the world and congratulated the Class of 2025.
In his address, Mr. Surve spoke on leadership and innovation, and advised graduates to keep learning, stay adaptable, and make a positive impact. He remarked that his advice to all of them is to take bold decisions and combine them with intent, content, and execution. He encouraged them to keep learning, stay adaptable, and not be afraid to take informed risks.
Mr. Surve acknowledged that life will have its challenges, but if they stay focused on their purpose and act with clarity, they will navigate those challenges successfully. He reminded them to enjoy the journey, value the culture around them, and maintain balance in life. He urged them to pursue their passions, nurture relationships, and give back to the community whenever possible. By doing this, they would not only succeed professionally but also find true personal fulfillment. He expressed confidence that the Class of 2025 has a bright future ahead and looked forward to seeing all that they will achieve.
A Commitment to Sustainability
The conferring of degrees was followed by the Sustainability Oath, reflecting NMIMS Navi Mumbai’s dedication to developing professionals who are industry-ready and conscious of their role in fostering a sustainable and inclusive future.
The convocation concluded with the National Anthem, the recess of the academic procession, and a celebratory gathering, marking a day of pride and new beginnings for the Class of 2025.
