This Diwali, NMIMS School of Business Management (SBM), Navi Mumbai, went beyond decorations and lights to create moments of pure joy and connection. The PR Committee, in collaboration with the Marketing Team, organised Diwali Utsav 2025 at a local old-age home, bringing together students and residents in a celebration of warmth, care, and togetherness.
Every detail reflected the campus spirit of giving and empathy. Students transformed the home with colorful decorations, hand-painted diyas, and vibrant rangolis. The flickering lamps and intricate designs were more than festive symbols—they were small sparks of joy illuminating the faces of the residents, many of whom rarely experience such celebrations firsthand.
Music, dance, and laughter filled the rooms as students performed cultural acts and engaged residents in games like dumb charades and antakshari. Each interaction, each shared smile, each gentle conversation was a reminder that Diwali is not just about lights, but about human connection, compassion, and the joy of making someone feel valued. Students handed out thoughtful gifts, including personalized cards and sweets, spreading warmth and gratitude.
The celebration culminated in a shared festive meal, where students and residents sat together, exchanging stories, laughter, and heartfelt moments. For the elderly, it was a day of companionship and celebration; for the students, it was a powerful lesson in empathy, social responsibility, and the true meaning of community.
NMIMS Navi Mumbai’s Diwali Utsav 2025 showcased how small gestures of kindness can light up hearts, bridge generations, and make the festival of lights truly meaningful. Through this initiative, the university reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing socially conscious, compassionate leaders who not only celebrate traditions but also create lasting impact in their communities.
