SVKM’s NMIMS School of Business Management Hosts AACSB Global Leadership Delegation in Mumbai

SVKM’s NMIMS School of Business Management (SBM), Mumbai, welcomed a high-level delegation from AACSB International, marking an important moment for the institution. As one of only 27 business schools in India accredited by AACSB, SBM hosted senior representatives including Dr Lily Bi, President and CEO of AACSB; Mr Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President; and Mr Prathap Das, Regional Head for South Asia.

The visit brought together senior leaders of SVKM’s NMIMS, including Vice Chancellor Dr Ramesh Bhat and Officiating Dean Dr Veena Vohra, along with faculty members and programme heads. The discussions focused on the evolving direction of global business education and the role of Indian management schools in shaping its future.

Strengthening Global Academic Engagement

During the interaction, the AACSB delegation explored the school’s academic culture, programmes and emerging areas of focus. The conversations highlighted the increasing role of artificial intelligence in teaching, learning and research, and its growing relevance for industry-ready graduates. The delegation also examined the shifting expectations of students, educators and employers, and how business schools must continuously adapt to remain globally competitive.

Faculty members from SBM engaged in a dynamic exchange on innovation in management education, the changing landscape of global business schools and opportunities for deeper regional collaboration. The visit served as a platform to align SBM’s strategic direction with international standards of excellence.

Showcasing Purpose-Driven Initiatives

SBM presented its notable initiatives that integrate academic rigour with social impact. These included award-winning projects from the Jasani Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Management, such as Dolphin Tanki, and key initiatives from the Family Business and Entrepreneurship programmes. Each project demonstrated the school’s focus on responsible leadership and community-oriented innovation.

The visit reaffirmed SVKM’s NMIMS SBM’s commitment to advancing high-quality management education in India. By engaging with AACSB’s global leadership, the school strengthened its dedication to developing future-ready professionals equipped to contribute to business and society.
