Students from SVKM’s NMIMS’ Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME) delivered an impressive performance at the Boeing National Aeromodelling Competition 2025 held at IIT Gandhinagar. The event is regarded as one of India’s most challenging RC aircraft engineering competitions and attracts strong contenders from across the country.
Strong Performance in a Highly Competitive Field
This year’s competition hosted 58 teams representing six states. MPSTME teams stood out with precision engineering, disciplined teamwork and consistent performance across multiple evaluation rounds. Two teams advanced to the Finals, securing places among the Top 22. Team Mithil earned a remarkable fourth position and became one of only three teams to achieve a perfect 100 per cent payload drop accuracy. Team Aaditya also demonstrated strong technical ability and secured ninth place after a competitive final round.
The teams presented aircraft engineered for high-speed stability, smooth manoeuvrability and accurate payload delivery. Their performance reflected months of testing, simulation and refinement, resulting in aircraft designs that met demanding aerodynamic and structural requirements.
Engineering Excellence and Teamwork
The students competed under the guidance of faculty mentor Prof. Mayur Marathe, who has played a key role in strengthening MPSTME’s aeromodelling initiatives. The teams demonstrated a deep understanding of RC aircraft design, from wing configuration and propulsion to balance, endurance and weight optimisation. Led by Team Captain Reyansh Shetty, the group showed strong coordination both during construction and on the field.
Their achievements highlight MPSTME’s growing emphasis on experiential engineering, hands-on innovation and competitive technical exposure. The strong performance at IIT Gandhinagar reinforces the school’s commitment to nurturing young engineers capable of excelling in national-level design and technology challenges. The results also position MPSTME as a prominent presence in India’s aeromodelling and aerospace competition circuit.
