SVKM’s NMIMS Bengaluru Faculty Member Achieves Dual Recognition for Legal Scholarship on Constitution Day

SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Bengaluru, is proud to announce two distinct achievements earned by Dr. Kush Kalra, Assistant Professor, School of Law, NMIMS Bengaluru, in recognition of his significant contributions to legal research and academic writing.

Felicitation by Chief Justice of India at the Supreme Court

On the occasion of Constitution Day (26 November), Dr. Kalra was felicitated by Hon’ble Justice Surya Kant, Chief Justice of India, at the Supreme Court lawns. The honour was conferred for his authorship of Comparative Constitutional Law and The Supreme Court Pleadings & Forms, works that contribute meaningfully to constitutional discourse and legal practice in India.

Indian National Bar Association Honours Excellence in Legal Research

In a separate recognition, Dr. Kalra was honoured by the Indian National Bar Association at a Constitution Day award ceremony held at the Constitution Club. This award was presented for excellence in legal research, with special recognition for his books Ultimate Guide to AOR (4th Edition) and Decoding Stages of Criminal Trial.

Notably, Ultimate Guide to AOR has been recommended by the Supreme Court Bar Association for candidates appearing for the Advocate-on-Record (AOR) Examination, reflecting its strong practical relevance. Decoding Stages of Criminal Trial carries a foreword by Shri K. Kannan, former Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, further underscoring its academic and professional value.

Reinforcing NMIMS Bengaluru’s Commitment to Legal Education

These dual recognitions highlight NMIMS Bengaluru’s commitment to academic excellence, impactful scholarship, and the nurturing of future-ready legal professionals who bridge theory with practice. The university congratulates Dr. Kush Kalra on these distinguished honours and wishes him continued success in advancing legal education and research.
