The SAMARTHAN – CSR Committee of SVKM’s NMIMS Indore successfully organised RAKTAYU 2026, a Blood Donation Camp, on February 5, 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, in collaboration with Suyash Hospital. The initiative reflected the institute’s strong commitment to social responsibility, compassion, and community service, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff.
Inauguration and Dignitary Presence
The camp was formally inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Dr. Anshuman Jaswal, Director, SVKM’s NMIMS Indore, in the presence of respected Associate Deans, faculty coordinators, hospital representatives, and members of the organising committee. The inauguration set a purposeful tone for the day, reinforcing the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives.
Well-Structured and Safe Donation Process
Meticulous arrangements were made to ensure a smooth and well-organised donation process. Dedicated desks were set up for on-site registration, pre-registered donors, medical screening, refreshment distribution, and certificate collection. Donors underwent preliminary medical examinations conducted by trained professionals, including haemoglobin checks, blood pressure monitoring, and general fitness assessments, ensuring complete safety and eligibility before donation.
Comfort-Focused Donor Experience
To create a calm and positive environment, the organisers ensured donor comfort through soothing music, stress-relief tools, and attentive volunteer support. The well-equipped medical team from Suyash Hospital ensured seamless blood collection with strict adherence to medical protocols and hygiene standards.
Post-Donation Care and Recognition
After blood donation, each donor was kept under observation for a minimum of ten minutes and provided with a refreshment box containing fruit juice and other essentials. Every participant received a Certificate of Appreciation, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to humanity and public health.
Significant Impact and Participation
With active participation from students, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and volunteers from across Indore, the camp successfully collected 160 units of blood. This contribution will play a crucial role in supporting medical emergencies and patients in need across the region.
Collective Effort Behind the Success
The success of RAKTAYU 2026 was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the SAMARTHAN student team, continuous guidance from faculty coordinators, and the professional support of the medical staff from Suyash Hospital. Their collective commitment ensured efficient coordination, donor safety, and a meaningful experience for all participants.
A Step Towards Responsible Citizenship
The blood donation drive served as a powerful reminder that a single act of kindness can save multiple lives. SAMARTHAN continues to remain committed to organising socially impactful initiatives and fostering a culture of empathy, volunteerism, and responsible citizenship among students.
“Donate blood, save lives — because every drop counts.”
