SVKM’s NMIMS SPPSPTM Hosts ‘Swasthya’ Health Camp Benefiting 240 Underprivileged Children

The Pharmacy School Committee at Shobhaben Pratapbhai Patel School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, SVKM’s NMIMS successfully conducted the ‘Swasthya’ Medical Health Camp in collaboration with Kshamta at BNCMC School No. 33, benefitting 240 underprivileged children through comprehensive healthcare, essential support services, and long-term wellbeing initiatives.

Comprehensive Medical Screening and Consultations

The camp provided extensive health screenings conducted by medical professionals to ensure early diagnosis and preventive care. Services included diagnostic testing such as blood grouping, blood pressure monitoring, and glucose testing, along with general health check-ups and respiratory screenings.

Specialised consultations were also offered, including orthopedic evaluations, dental examinations, and gynecological consultations for adolescent girls, ensuring holistic healthcare support tailored to students’ needs.

Securing Long-Term Health Protection

A key highlight of the initiative was the provision of comprehensive health and accident insurance coverage for all participating students. With a total insured sum of ₹6.34 crore, the coverage ensures protection against accidental risks and hospitalisation expenses, significantly strengthening long-term healthcare security for the children.

Supporting Education, Nutrition, and Infrastructure

In response to school requirements, the initiative also addressed essential educational and infrastructural needs. New notice boards were installed on campus, and students received tiffin boxes, notebooks, and stationery kits. Nutritious meal boxes were distributed to support their immediate dietary needs.

Promoting Hygiene, Dignity, and Wellbeing

To promote personal hygiene and dignity, the programme distributed essential hygiene kits containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, and bathing soaps to all students. Special dignity kits were provided to girls, including sanitary pads, undergarments, towels, and hygiene supplies to support menstrual health awareness and confidence.

Advancing Holistic Community Impact

Through this initiative, the SPPSPTM Pharmacy School Committee reinforced its commitment to community wellbeing by addressing immediate medical needs while creating long-term health security and improving access to essential resources for underserved children.
