The much-anticipated TEDxNMIMS 2025 took place on January 22 at the Mukesh Patel Auditorium, Mumbai leaving an indelible mark on everyone who attended. After months of meticulous planning and promotion, the event exceeded expectations, delivering an unforgettable experience filled with inspiration, thought-provoking ideas, and engaging conversations. Led by Ridhina Arora, a final-year student of Liberal Arts (Hons), the event was a testament to the power of collaboration and vision. The carefully curated line-up of speakers brought diverse perspectives to the stage, creating a truly enriching experience under the mentorship of Prof. Gourab Ghosh, a faculty member specializing in literature and cultural studies at the Jyoti Dalal School of Liberal Arts.
The evening began with vibrant energy as attendees eagerly queued outside the auditorium. Once inside, Ridhina welcomed the audience and introduced the theme of the event, “I Think, Therefore I Am.” The first session began with counselling psychologist Spreeha Bezbaruah, who infused a refreshing, interactive element into the event. Her engaging activity on the power of mental rehearsal not only captivated the audience but also provided practical tools to enhance mindset and well-being. The discourse then shifted to the intricacies of economics with Dr Surajit Mazumdar, who delivered a thought-provoking talk on the art of critical thinking in relation to our planet and our interactions with fellow beings. Adding an entrepreneurial perspective, Jhalak Shah, the visionary founder of Diam Beauty, shared invaluable lessons from her journey. Her story of resilience and innovation inspired the audience, showcasing her ability to navigate challenges and redefine norms within India’s beauty industry.
A thoughtfully planned break, featuring high tea and snacks, offered attendees an opportunity to exchange ideas and spark lively discussions among like-minded individuals. Post-break, Bollywood actor Avinash Tiwary captivated the audience with his heartfelt reflections on the power of choices and the relentless pursuit of passion. His authenticity and insights resonated deeply with attendees. Following him, acclaimed filmmaker Kabir Khan delivered a compelling talk, sharing stories from his documentary background and the narratives that shape society. His storytelling expertise added depth and nuance to the event.
