Sometimes, the smallest gestures leave the biggest impact. On a quiet October evening, 27 members of the Vaayu Core Team from SVKM’s NMIMS Anil Surendra Modi School of Commerce (ASMSOC) came together at Juhu Beach — not to plan, perform, or promote, but to give.
With bowls of food in hand and smiles on their faces, they fed stray dogs across the stretch of sand, turning an ordinary evening into one filled with warmth and love. What started as a simple idea soon became something unforgettable. The students watched tails wag and eyes light up, realising how powerful a single act of kindness can be. It wasn’t just about feeding animals; it was about empathy, about feeling connected to something beyond themselves. In those small, fleeting moments, the team found the true meaning of togetherness.
Beyond the Festive Lights
Vaayu has always been more than a cultural festival. It’s a spirit — one that celebrates not only talent and creativity but also compassion and purpose. The Juhu Beach food drive was a beautiful reminder of that. It showed that Vaayu’s energy doesn’t end when the music fades or the stage lights dim. Over the years, Vaayu has grown into one of India’s most loved student festivals, bringing together over 35,000 attendees and 600 young organisers.
