SVKM’s NMIMS School of Design (SOD) marked a moment of creative pride with the successful conclusion of Reflections, a duet art exhibition featuring Senior Artist Pratibha Wagh and Prof. (Dr.) Siddhesh Shirsekar, faculty at SVKM’s NMIMS. Held at Leela Galleria, Mumbai, from December 8 to 14, 2025, the exhibition stood as a compelling exploration of visual storytelling across generations and artistic philosophies.
A Dialogue Between Tradition and Contemporary Expression
Reflections brought together two distinct yet complementary artistic voices. Renowned artist Pratibha Wagh presented works grounded in timeless fine art principles, drawing deeply from the visual language of traditional Indian folk art. Her pieces reflected cultural memory, heritage, and the enduring strength of classical artistic practices.
Observing Humanity Through Everyday Forms
In contrast, Prof. (Dr.) Siddhesh Shirsekar’s works offered evocative interpretations of the human form, inspired by everyday life and ordinary moments. His figurative expressions captured subtle emotions and lived experiences, transforming the mundane into thoughtful visual narratives that resonated with contemporary audiences.
Art as the Foundation of Visual Communication
The exhibition served as a powerful reminder that strong visual communication emerges from sustained artistic practice. By examining form, culture, and human experience, Reflections reinforced the belief that creativity and innovation are rooted in deep observation and disciplined artistic exploration—values that lie at the heart of design education at SVKM’s NMIMS School of Design.
