The Department of Mechanical Engineering at SVKM’s NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering (MPSTME), in collaboration with Siemens, inaugurated the Digital Manufacturing Laboratory, marking a significant milestone in industry-integrated engineering education.
Advanced Digital Manufacturing Tools for Future Engineers
The state-of-the-art laboratory is powered by Siemens’ advanced Digital Manufacturing software, including NX CAD, Tecnomatix Process Simulate, NX Line Designer, Tecnomatix Plant Simulation, and Simcenter CAE tools. These platforms will enable students to gain hands-on experience with technologies widely used across global manufacturing ecosystems, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry applications.
Distinguished Presence from Industry and Academia
The inauguration was graced by senior representatives from Siemens, Mr. Abhijit Bhalerao, Leader – Professional Services, and Mr. Rohit Bhatia, Engagement Manager – Learning Services. The event also witnessed the presence of NMIMS leadership, including Dr. Koteswararao Anne, Dean, and Dr. Ashish Deshmukh, Head of the Department, Mechanical Engineering, MPSTME.
Driving Industry–Academia Collaboration
The Digital Manufacturing Laboratory reinforces NMIMS MPSTME’s commitment to fostering strong industry–academia collaboration and equipping students with future-ready skills in digital manufacturing. The initiative aims to enhance experiential learning, encourage innovation, and prepare engineering graduates to meet the evolving demands of Industry 4.0.
This collaboration with Siemens reflects NMIMS MPSTME’s continued focus on delivering contemporary, technology-driven education aligned with global industry standards.
