Reinforcing its commitment to leadership development and industry engagement, SVKM’s NMIMS University – Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering (MPSTME) successfully conducted a two-week Management Development Programme from 16 to 27 February 2026 for Defence Civilian Officers from the Naval Dockyard Mumbai.
Building Leadership for Mission-Critical Environments
Designed specifically for officers operating in zero-error, high-reliability defence environments, the programme focused on strengthening managerial excellence, ethical leadership, and strategic decision-making capabilities essential for mission-critical operations.
Comprehensive Learning Across Management Domains
The sessions covered key areas including decision-making under pressure, leadership and people management within structured hierarchies, financial discipline and governance, safety compliance, digitisation, quality systems, and process excellence.
Special emphasis was also placed on the human dimensions of management, including motivation, stress management, teamwork, and ethical judgement in complex operational settings.
Bridging Academic Insight and Defence Practice
The programme fostered meaningful dialogue between academic frameworks and real-world dockyard challenges, highlighting how sound managerial judgement, ethical clarity, and leadership effectiveness play a decisive role in defence organisations.
Collaborative Engagement for Impactful Learning
NMIMS extended its gratitude to the Admiral Superintendent, senior officers, faculty members, and all participants for their active engagement and collaboration in making the initiative impactful and enriching.
