SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Bengaluru, hosted the 17th Convocation of its School of Business Management (SBM), marking a significant milestone for the graduating MBA Class of 2026. The ceremony brought together academic leadership, industry experts, proud families, and graduating students to celebrate students’ academic achievement, their perseverance, and readiness for the evolving global business landscape.
The convocation was graced by Chief Guest Shri Prabhakar Varadarajan, Head GCC & MD (I), GCC Bengaluru, ANZ, and presided over by Shri Pravin H. Doshi, Nominee of the Hon’ble Chancellor, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). The ceremony witnessed the presence of key academic leaders Dr. Meena Chintamaneni, Pro Vice Chancellor & Acting Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Dr. Narayani Ramachandran, Director, NMIMS Bengaluru Campus, and Tanmoy Chakraborty, Registrar, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
The formal proceedings followed a well-structured pattern which included the academic procession, invocation of the blessings of the almighty, singing of the NMIMS anthem, declaration of the opening of the convocation, conferment of degrees, presentation of awards, and the delivery of the convocation address by the Chief guest.
Welcoming the gathering, Dr. Meena Chintamaneni Pro Vice Chancellor & Acting Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) wished the graduates a bright future and added that the day marked an important transition for the students from structured academic learning to getting ready to meet the complexities of the professional world, where adaptability and integrity will be the key to sustained success.
“This convocation is a proud moment for all of us, as we celebrate the achievements of a cohort that has demonstrated resilience, discipline, and a strong commitment to excellence throughout their academic journey,” said Dr. Narayani Ramachandran, Director, NMIMS Bengaluru Campus. She also presented SBM Annual Report highlighting the institution’s achievements and milestones. The degrees were formally conferred upon the graduating students by Shri Pravin H. Doshi, Nominee of the Hon’ble Chancellor, SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
Addressing the graduating cohort, the Chief Guest Shri Prabhakar Varadarajan shared his insights encouraging students to embrace change, innovation, and leadership in a dynamic global environment. “The future of organisations will be shaped by professionals who can combine strategic thinking with execution excellence, and I am confident that this graduating cohort is well-prepared for that responsibility,” said the Chief Guest, Shri Prabhakar Varadarajan.
The graduating Batch of 2024–26 reflected strong diversity and academic depth, comprising 227 students. The cohort represented varied academic backgrounds, including Engineering (22.1%), BSc & Others (16.3%), Commerce (52%), BA & Others (6.17%), along with representation from Medicine, and Law. Notably, 30% of the batch brought prior work experience, enriching classroom discussions with industry perspectives.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of outstanding student achievements. Sidharth Prakash was honoured with the Academic Excellence Award. Sabarimayurnath U was conferred the prestigious Student of the Year award.
The convocation ceremony reflected NMIMS Bengaluru’s continued commitment to academic excellence and holistic development, recognising student achievements across academic and co-curricular domains.
Prof. Ramprrasadh Goarty proposed the vote of thanks for the event marking its conclusion. The 17th Convocation closed on a note of pride and optimism, celebrating not just academic accomplishments but also the potential of graduates to contribute meaningfully to organisations and society. As the Class of 2026 steps into the professional world, NMIMS Bengaluru reaffirmed its commitment to shaping responsible, future-ready leaders equipped to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
