SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Bengaluru commenced the new academic year by welcoming students across its School of Economics and School of Commerce through Orientation Day 2026 programmes, while also celebrating a significant national achievement by one of its MBA students.
The School of Economics welcomed its newest cohort of B.Sc. Economics students, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey. The orientation programme was graced by distinguished industry leaders, including Mr. Anjan A, Vice President – Talent Management & Development, Northern Trust, and Ms. Naveena Dhawalgi, Director, Product Manager – Insights & Analytics, Fidelity Investments, and a proud NMIMS alumna.
During the session, Ms. Naveena shared her professional journey and reflected on how her experience at NMIMS shaped her career, while Mr. Anjan offered valuable insights on leadership and talent development. Their interactions encouraged students to approach their academic journey with confidence and purpose.
The School of Commerce also welcomed its incoming cohort of students from the B.Sc. Finance, BBA, and B.Com programmes. The orientation featured insightful sessions by Mr. Prasad Dhulipalla, CPA, Former Director, Grant Thornton’s KCC (Knowledge & Capability Center), and Dr. Ganesaraman K, Deputy CIO, Global Head – Internal Audit & CSR Trustee at [24]7.ai.
The speakers shared perspectives on leadership, the evolving business landscape, industry expectations, and career growth, inspiring students as they embark on their academic and professional journeys.
Adding to the celebrations, NMIMS Bengaluru’s MBA student Hrishika Jayaram was recognised as one of the Top 5 Winners and secured the 4th Runner-Up position in the NHRDN – Prof. Ram Charan Young HR Icons Awards 2026 (Student Category).
Organised by the National HRD Network (NHRDN), the prestigious national-level competition recognises emerging HR leaders through a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process comprising cognitive assessments, case study submissions, and interviews. Participants were evaluated on competencies including business acumen, communication, stakeholder management, execution, analytical thinking, people management, and digital mindset.
Hrishika’s achievement is particularly noteworthy as the Top 5 finalists represented some of India’s leading institutions, including MDI Gurgaon, SCMHRD Pune, and TISS Mumbai.
