Ms. Shivani Prabhu and Ms. Harshita Joshi, first-year students of SVKM’s Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, NMIMS Mumbai, represented the institution at the 2nd National Conference on Gender Justice: Breaking Stereotypes, Discriminations and Prejudices, organised by Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, on 20th March 2026.
The students presented their research paper titled “Patriarchy and the Representation of Women in Indian and Global Visual Media: A Comparative Study”, contributing to important academic discussions on gender and media studies. Their work was well appreciated by the panel, marking a strong beginning to their research journey.
Both students are active members of the Centre for Research and Conferences (CRC) and were guided by Ms. Shraddha Pandit, Assistant Professor of Law and Convenor, CRC.
Their participation reflects NMIMS’ continued focus on encouraging research-oriented learning and academic engagement among students.
