NMIMS SBM Orientation 2026: Epigamia CEO Ritesh Gauba Encourages Students to Lead with Curiosity and Empathy

Mumbai, June 23, 2026: SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), School of Business Management (SBM), welcomed students of the incoming batch for its MBA Batch 2026–28 at the Mukesh Patel Auditorium in Mumbai during its Orientation Programme. This marks the beginning of the academic journey for students enrolled in the MBA, MBA in Human Resources, and MBA in Pharmaceutical Management programmes, introducing them to SBM’s academic ecosystem, industry-oriented learning approach, and leadership development framework.

Designed to facilitate a seamless transition into management education, the Foundation Programme familiarised students with academic expectations, experiential learning opportunities, industry engagement initiatives, student support systems, and the values that define the SBM experience. The programme aims to equip students with the mindset, skills, and perspectives required to thrive in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Addressing the incoming cohort as Chief Guest, Mr. Ritesh Gauba, Chief Executive Officer, Epigamia, and a distinguished SBM alumnus, shared insights from his professional journey spanning more than two decades across leading organisations and global markets. He encouraged students to embrace curiosity, adaptability, and empathy as they navigate their management careers. Highlighting the importance of continuous learning and self-development, he noted that success is driven by the ability to ask meaningful questions, challenge personal limitations, step beyond comfort zones, and maintain a balance between intelligence and humanity. He emphasised that empathy and the ability to connect with people remain defining qualities of effective leaders in an increasingly dynamic business environment.

Welcoming the new batch, SBM leadership emphasised the importance of embracing learning beyond the classroom and developing the resilience, adaptability, and ethical grounding required to succeed in an increasingly interconnected and technology-driven business environment.

Dr. Meena Chintamaneni, Pro Vice Chancellor, NMIMS, highlighted that personal and professional growth is shaped through guidance, challenges, and the willingness to learn from mistakes. She encouraged students to trust their mentors, seize opportunities for growth, and focus on building integrity, competence, and character alongside academic achievements. She also underscored the importance of creating a meaningful impact through one’s actions and striving to become the best version of oneself while inspiring others through the journey.

The event was graced by the presence of distinguished academic leaders from the School of Business Management, NMIMS, including Dr. Veena Vohra, Dean of Accreditation and Strategic Initiatives; Dr. Mayank Joshipura, Dean – Advancing Research & Innovation; and Dr. Chandrima Sikdar, Dean of Academics and Learning Experience. Through their respective leadership roles, they continue to contribute significantly to advancing academic excellence, fostering innovation, and strengthening SBM’s commitment to quality education, impactful research, and strategic growth.

With a legacy of academic excellence and industry relevance, SBM NMIMS remains dedicated to shaping responsible leaders who can navigate complexity, drive innovation, and create sustainable value. The Foundation Programme serves as the first step in this journey, inspiring students to learn, lead, and grow with purpose.
