Ahmedabad: In a significant milestone for its newest campus, SVKM’s NMIMS Ahmedabad welcomed the inaugural batch of students of the School of Business Management (SBM) through its first orientation programme, marking the formal commencement of academic activities at the campus. The event was graced by the presence of Shri Balendra Amin, Chief Operating Officer, SVKM, and Shri Pragnesh Patel, Additional Chief Operating Officer, SVKM, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to establishing Ahmedabad as a centre of excellence in management education.
Located in one of India’s leading business and entrepreneurial hubs, NMIMS Ahmedabad aims to nurture future-ready professionals through industry-integrated learning, an entrepreneurial mindset, and responsible leadership. The orientation programme introduced students to NMIMS’ academic philosophy, experiential pedagogy, and values-driven culture, setting the foundation for their management journey.

The programme featured distinguished industry leaders and academicians who encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning and leadership from the very outset of their academic journey.
Mr. Nayan Parikh, Managing Director, Nayan Parikh & Consultants, inspired students with his philosophy of “Learn, Unlearn and Relearn,” emphasising the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in today’s rapidly evolving business environment.
Mr. Suramya Vora, Retired Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officer, encouraged students to become thoughtful leaders by practising active listening, critical thinking, and responsible decision-making.

The concluding session by Dr. Hitesh Shukla, Professor and Head, Department of Business Management, Saurashtra University, focused on sustainability, institution-building, and long-term value creation, urging students to build organisations that create enduring value for society.
As its inaugural School of Business Management cohort embarks on this journey, NMIMS Ahmedabad aims to create a vibrant learning ecosystem that blends academic excellence, industry engagement, innovation, and global perspectives, while contributing meaningfully to the growth of management education in Western India.
