Mumbai: SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Pravin Dalal School of Entrepreneurship & Family Business Management (PDSE&FBM), welcomed the incoming cohort of MBA (Entrepreneurship & Family Business) and MBA (Entrepreneurship) students for the academic year 2026–27 at the Mukesh Patel Auditorium, Mumbai Campus, during the inauguration of its Foundation Programme.
The Foundation Programme marks the beginning of the students’ entrepreneurial learning experience by introducing them to an ecosystem that combines academic excellence, industry immersion, mentorship, innovation, and experiential learning. Designed to facilitate a smooth transition into entrepreneurial management education, the programme familiarises students with academic expectations, industry engagement opportunities, and institutional resources, while equipping them with the mindset, business acumen, and leadership capabilities required to build scalable and sustainable ventures.
Addressing the incoming cohort, Dr. Meena Chintamaneni, Acting Vice Chancellor & Pro-Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS University; Prof. Seema Mahajan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS and Director, Pravin Dalal School of Entrepreneurship & Family Business Management (PDSE&FBM), welcomed the students and highlighted the institution’s commitment to preparing future entrepreneurs through innovation, experiential learning, ethical leadership, and strong industry engagement.
Prof. Seema Mahajan highlighted that NMIMS is committed to creating an ecosystem where aspiring entrepreneurs and future business leaders can learn, innovate, and transform ideas into impactful ventures. She emphasised that through experiential learning, strong industry connect, and a culture of innovation, the institution aims to empower students to lead with purpose, resilience, and integrity in an ever-evolving global business environment.
The programme also featured addresses by Dr. Beena Nair, Associate Dean and Program Chairperson, MBA (Entrepreneurship & Family Business), and Dr. Kalika Bansal, Program Chairperson, MBA (Entrepreneurship), who introduced students to the academic curriculum, learning philosophy, and experiential opportunities at NMIMS.
The highlight of the inauguration was the keynote address by Mr. Chetan Jain, Director, Taurus Packaging, who shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey and encouraged students to embrace uncertainty, stay curious, and build ventures that create lasting value for society. He noted that entrepreneurship is not merely about building successful businesses but also about solving meaningful problems with courage, persistence, and purpose, urging students to view challenges as opportunities for learning and growth.
