SVKM’s NMIMS School of Design Welcomes B.Des. Batch of 2026 Through Deeksharambh 2026

Mumbai, July 2026: SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), School of Design, welcomed the incoming B.Des. (Humanising Technology) Batch of 2026–2030 through Deeksharambh 2026, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey centred on creativity, innovation, and human-centred design.

The orientation programme was designed to introduce students to the School’s academic philosophy, design-led learning approach, institutional values, and collaborative campus culture. It provided students with an opportunity to engage with the School’s leadership, faculty members, and peers while gaining insights into the curriculum, experiential learning opportunities, and the interdisciplinary nature of design education at NMIMS.

The inaugural programme was graced by Mr. Gavin Remedios, Leading Experience Design, IBM Consulting – India/South Asia, as the Chief Guest. Drawing from his extensive industry experience, he shared valuable perspectives on the evolving role of design, innovation, technology, and human-centred thinking in addressing real-world challenges and creating meaningful user experiences.

The programme was also attended by Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar, Provost (Administration), NMIMS; Dr. Arundhati Guha Thakurta, Associate Dean, School of Design; and Shri Amit Sheth, In Charge & Mentor, School of Design, who welcomed the new batch and introduced students to the School’s vision of nurturing future-ready designers capable of driving innovation across industries.

As part of the orientation, students participated in sessions on academics, student life, design thinking, experiential learning, research opportunities, campus resources, and co-curricular initiatives. The programme also encouraged students to build meaningful connections with their peers and faculty while embracing a collaborative and creative learning environment.

Deeksharambh 2026 marked the beginning of a transformative journey for the new cohort, reaffirming NMIMS School of Design’s commitment to developing socially conscious, innovation-driven designers equipped with the skills, creativity, and critical thinking needed to shape the future through design.
