SVKM’s NMIMS School of Law, Bengaluru Welcomes the Class of 2026 with an Inspiring Orientation Programme

Bengaluru: NMIMS School of Law (SOL), Bengaluru, welcomed its incoming batch through the Orientation Programme 2026, marking the beginning of an enriching academic journey for aspiring legal professionals. The event brought together academic leaders, distinguished legal practitioners, faculty members, and students, setting the tone for a transformative learning experience rooted in excellence, integrity, and professional growth.

The programme commenced with the traditional Lamp Lighting Ceremony, symbolising the illumination of knowledge and wisdom and the beginning of a new chapter for the incoming students. The ceremony reflected the institution’s commitment to nurturing future-ready legal professionals equipped with both academic excellence and strong ethical foundations.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Narayani Ramachandran, Campus Director, NMIMS Bengaluru, encouraged students to stay disciplined, embrace change, and lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose. Emphasising the importance of adaptability and lifelong learning, she urged the students to make the most of the opportunities available to them during their legal education.

The programme was graced by Dr. Rama Iyer, Advocate, Founder, Ayana Legal, and President, Karnataka Federation of Women Lawyers, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Sammith S., Founder and Principal Attorney, Sanctum Law, as the Guest of Honour. Sharing valuable insights from their professional journeys, they encouraged students to cultivate discipline, critical thinking, ethical values, effective communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning. They further highlighted the importance of actively engaging in academic and experiential opportunities to emerge as competent, compassionate, and future-ready legal professionals.

A special highlight of the event was the Felicitation Ceremony, where the distinguished guests were honoured in recognition of their contributions to the legal profession and their inspiring engagement with the student community.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Samraggi Chakraborty, Program Chairperson, School of Law, who encouraged students to pursue excellence with knowledge, dedication, and integrity throughout their legal journey. She underscored the importance of upholding professional ethics while striving for academic and personal growth.
