Mumbai, September 2026: The Debate and Diplomacy Committee (DDC) of NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law (KPMSOL), Mumbai, in collaboration with PVR INOX, organised a seminar titled “Primetime: A Legal and Ethical Perspective” on 16 September 2026. The seminar was held at the Moot Court Room of KPMSOL.
The seminar explored the intersection of law, investigative crime reporting, media ethics and cinema, providing students with an opportunity to examine the legal and ethical considerations involved in the reporting and portrayal of crime.
The session focused on the responsibilities associated with investigative journalism and crime reporting, while encouraging students to critically examine how crime, investigation and journalism are represented in cinema. The discussion also highlighted the importance of balancing journalistic responsibilities with legal and ethical considerations while reporting on sensitive subjects.
The seminar provided a platform for interaction between law students and professionals from the media and entertainment industry, enabling students to engage with practical perspectives on investigative reporting and its representation through cinema.
The event was attended by students of the School of Law and encouraged meaningful discussion around the evolving relationship between law, media, journalism and the entertainment industry.
