Shirpur, September 2026: SVKM’s NMIMS Shirpur Campus achieved a significant milestone in sports by being honoured with the prestigious “Outstanding NMIMS Campus for Sports Excellence” award at the SVKM Sports Award 2026 held in Mumbai.
The prestigious ceremony was held on 21 September 2026 at the Shri Mukeshbhai Patel Auditorium, NMIMS Building, Vile Parle, Mumbai, bringing together distinguished leaders, sports achievers, coaches, teachers and institutions from across the SVKM and NMIMS ecosystem.
The ceremony was graced by Shri Karsan Ghavri, former Indian cricketer, as the Chief Guest, and Renjith Maheshwary, Indian athlete and Triple Jump Olympian, as the Guest of Honour.
The event was also attended by Professor Dr. Sougata Ray, Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be University; Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar, Provost (Administration), NMIMS; and Smt. Sneha A. Parekh, Managing Committee Member, SVKM, along with other senior dignitaries and members of the SVKM and NMIMS community.

These achievements are matter of immense pride for the entire SVKM and NMIMS family, reflecting the dedication, discipline, teamwork and sporting excellence demonstrated by the students, coach, Sports Department, faculty, staff and campus administration.
Dr. Sunita Patil, Director, NMIMS Shirpur Campus, was present at the ceremony and proudly represented the campus on this prestigious occasion. Her presence added significance to the celebration as the sporting achievements of NMIMS Shirpur were recognised at the SVKM platform.
The Sports Department also acknowledges the continued guidance, encouragement and support of Dr. Kiran Anchan, Director, Sports Department, SVKM & NMIMS, towards strengthening sports activities and providing opportunities for students to excel.
The Sports Department also expresses its sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Shri Amrishbhai Patel, President of SVKM and chancellor of NMIMS; Hon’ble Shri Bhupeshbhai Patel, Joint President of SVKM; Shri Rajgopal Bhandari, Mentor, NMIMS Shirpur Campus; and Smt.
