SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh Hosts Byte Battle to Foster Coding and Problem-Solving Skills

SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh recently hosted Byte Battle, a coding competition organised by Code2Career to encourage problem-solving, collaboration and technical confidence among students.

The competition featured 17 participating teams and was conducted across three rounds — a quiz, a coding challenge and a PPT-based solution presentation. Following the initial rounds, the top 10 teams advanced to the next stage, giving participants an opportunity to demonstrate their technical knowledge, analytical thinking and ability to develop and present solutions.

More than a coding competition, Byte Battle aimed to strengthen a culture of continuous learning and peer collaboration among students. The initiative provided participants with an opportunity to apply coding concepts in a competitive environment while developing teamwork, problem-solving and presentation skills.

The event was graced by Prof. Dr Jyotsna S., Campus Director, NMIMS Chandigarh, and Dr. Jagpreet Singh, Associate Dean, STME, whose presence encouraged students and highlighted the institution’s commitment to fostering technical learning and student-led initiatives.

The initiative was founded and guided by Dr. Preetjot Kaur, Assistant Professor, STME, with student leadership from Mannat Walia, President, and Vivaan Gupta, Vice President, who played an active role in organising and executing the event.

Byte Battle reflects NMIMS Chandigarh’s efforts to create opportunities for students to strengthen their technical capabilities through practical challenges, collaboration and experiential learning. Such initiatives contribute to building an active technology community and preparing students for the evolving demands of the industry.

NMIMS Chandigarh congratulates all participants and winners and looks forward to further initiatives that encourage students to learn, innovate and engage with technology.
