Shriya Rane, a fourth-year B Tech Mechanical Engineering student at the NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering (MPSTME), has been awarded the highly acclaimed Faurecia Sustainable Mobility Solutions scholarship.
Mumbai, August 16, 2023: Shriya Rane, a fourth-year B Tech Mechanical Engineering student at the NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering (MPSTME), has been awarded the highly acclaimed Faurecia Sustainable Mobility Solutions scholarship. Shriya secured a position in the top 10 out of almost 250 girls from various cities in Maharashtra who participated in the program. This achievement not only grants her a scholarship of INR 1,25,000 but also provides her with preference in Faurecia’s recruitment drive, besides opening doors to new opportunities, including mentorship, collaboration, and potential career prospects.
Shriya expressed her delight and surprise upon receiving the scholarship, saying, “This scholarship came as a dream come true for me. In the highly competitive environment during the program, I was unsure of my chances. However, this recognition has boosted my confidence and validated the hard work I have put in. It surely has given me a boost in confidence and motivated me to work harder, it has taken me a step closer to bagging my dream job.’
The Faurecia scholarship provided Shriya with an invaluable opportunity to broaden her knowledge and gain new perspectives in the field of mechanical engineering. She found inspiration in working closely with an organization that shares her passion for developing technologies for safe, sustainable, advanced, and customized mobility.
To excel in the selection process, Shriya meticulously researched Faurecia’s mission, projects, and milestones. Her summer internship experience at Jaguar and Land Rover played a pivotal role in deepening her technical expertise and understanding, contributing to her success in the program.
The selection process consisted of five stages, including a technical aptitude test, an in-person technical interview, a group discussion, an on-spot presentation, and a senior manager/HR round. Shriya’s dedication and perseverance throughout these stages demonstrated her exceptional skills and commitment to the field of mechanical engineering.
Receiving the Faurecia Sustainable Mobility Solutions scholarship marks a significant milestone in Shriya’s academic and professional career. She expressed her gratitude to Faurecia and MPSTME for providing her with this transformative opportunity. Shriya’s achievements inspire her to aim for higher academic standards and undertake challenging endeavors in her field.
Shriya acknowledged the support of Professor Nilesh Balki, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MPSTME, who mentored her throughout the
program. His guidance and encouragement played a crucial role in Shriya’s success, allowing her to reach new heights in her academic journey.
With a passion for electric vehicle enhancements, sustainable lightweight materials, supply chain digitalization, and sustainability, Shriya aims to be actively involved in projects that tackle these areas.
