Navi Mumbai, 24 October 2026: The School of Business Management (SBM), SVKM’s NMIMS, Navi Mumbai, organised Margadarshak 8.0, its three-day flagship event, from 21 to 23 October 2026. Centred on the theme “Mélange – Where Perspectives Meet, Possibilities Emerge,” the event brought together industry professionals, speakers and students through competitions, interactive discussions, experiential activities and cultural celebrations.
Margadarshak provides students with opportunities to learn from industry experiences, engage with professionals and alumni, and develop skills beyond the classroom. The eighth edition reflected this vision by bringing together diverse perspectives on business, marketing, leadership and career development.
The event opened on 21 October with a formal inauguration, including a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony attended by campus leadership and the judges of the Margadarshak Case Competition. Cultural performances featuring dance and music added to the opening celebrations.
The first day also featured the final round of the Margadarshak Case Competition, sponsored by Wobble. Five finalist teams presented solutions to a business case in 15-minute presentations, followed by questions from the judges. The teams were evaluated on their analytical approach, clarity, creativity, feasibility of recommendations and presentation skills. The Trio emerged as the winner, while 3 Much secured the first runner-up position. The competition offered students an opportunity to demonstrate structured problem-solving, teamwork and business decision-making.
On 22 October, the programme focused on marketing and digital communication. The Marketing Roundtable featured Mr. Sahil Gallani, Mr. Jayesh Sharma and Mr. Karanjeet Sahi, who shared industry perspectives on the evolving marketing landscape and the capabilities required for careers in the field. This was followed by an influencer marketing session by Ms. Shakshi Shetty, which explored the role of influencers in brand communication and audience engagement. An interactive question-and-answer session enabled students to engage directly with the speaker.
The third day featured The Global Boardroom, an interactive activity in which participants represented countries and companies, pitched their positions and negotiated alliances to build winning partnerships. The exercise encouraged networking, persuasion, negotiation, strategic thinking and teamwork. Mr. Aamol Komar Chaudhary, Partner at KPMG India, joined as a guest and delivered a session on digital transformation, financial strategy and business leadership.
Margadarshak 8.0 concluded with a Halloween DJ Night on 23 October at the main staircase area of the NMIMS Navi Mumbai campus, organised in association with the Cultural Committee. The evening gave students an opportunity to connect and celebrate after three days of competitions, discussions and interactive learning.
Through its blend of industry engagement, practical challenges, networking and cultural activities, Margadarshak 8.0 reinforced the School of Business Management’s emphasis on holistic student development. The event brought the spirit of “Mélange – Where Perspectives Meet, Possibilities Emerge” to life by creating opportunities for students to explore new ideas, learn from varied experiences and build skills relevant to their future careers.
