SVKM’s NMIMS is very happy and proud to share that, Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics (SAMSOE) has got a recommendation from the Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas: Steel, Govt. of India for the Economic Justice Conclave SAMSOE had organized in the month of Jan 2020.
As a part of Economics festival ‘Ka-Ching’ besides various competitive events school had introduced the Economic Justice Conclave( EJCON) on the topic “Combating the Existential Threats of Climate Change in India – A pathway toward sustainable development”. It was a National Policy Challenge, wherein students from all over the country competed and come up with a joint student driven policy solution on climate change. Across the 3 days of the conclave from 27 to 29 January, panel discussions, debates and town hall sessions were held wherein the youth got a chance to learn from the knowledge and experience of eminent personalities and leaders. SAMSOE had overwhelming response where students had applied not only from several states in India but also from UK.
Today, the school has received this commendation from the Union Minister himself. This year too SAMSOE is preparing for Ka-Ching and EJCON with a theme on inequality and school is also starting with a series of webinars on related topics.
