Hon’ble Minister Sh. Bhupender Yadav Kicks-off “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat” Maharashtra chapter at NMIMS University, Mumbai campus

Sub-headline: 600+ students from NMIMS Mumbai attended the event, making it the largest gathering of students at the same venue for this event.

Mumbai, 23rd September 2024: The esteemed NMIMS University Mumbai hosted a ground-breaking event, ‘Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat’ at its sprawling Mumbai campus. This momentous event, graced by the Hon’ble Union Minister for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, as Chief Guest, brought together young women achievers from NMIMS, renowned YouTube influencers and animated students for an inspiring session on Yuva Shakti, Green Initiative, Climate Change and India’s vision for the future.

The dynamic event was attended by NMIMS’ enthusiastic students, esteemed women achievers, and popular disruptive social media influencers who have manifested social change, among many others.

The event commenced with a tree plantation ceremony by the Hon’ble Minister and the ten women achievers under the banner of ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. Dr Ramesh Bhat, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, NMIMS University, welcomed the Hon’ble Minister and other dignitaries.

In an engaging keynote address to the students, Hon’ble Shri Bhupender Yadav enthusiastically spoke about youth power and its importance in Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India).  The inspiring Shri Bhupender Yadav said, “The youth of India is dynamic and determined, and India’s path to becoming a Global Leader rest upon their shoulders. As we work towards environmental sustainability and climate resilience, Yuva Shakti must lead the charge in fostering a greener and more sustainable future.”

Highlighting the impact and importance of this event, Shri Yadav also emphasised, “It is time for the youthto champion change in sustainable development, and that can spearhead key steps toward a truly developed India. The youth should initiate more tree plantations like the ones undertaken today at NMIMS, along with clean energy drives, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with the local communities.

Vice Chancellor of NMIMS University, Dr Ramesh Bhat, proudly said, “We welcome Shri Bhupender Yadav, who has inspired the students of NMIMS to revolutionise a green initiative.” He emphasised how education is the key foundation of this initiative and added, “We at NMIMS are committed to giving our students – the pillars of learning – skills, knowledge, and values needed to build a prosperous and sustainable nation.

The Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat event ended with a dynamic video clip from the Prime Minister’s “Join My Bharat” campaign, encouraging Yuva Shakti and the need for the youth to participate actively in India’s success story.
