The Pandemic COVID-19 has created unique challenges for different segments of the population and struck at the very heart of the machinery designed to protect people from such calamities. During this lock down period due to the pandemic, a lot of people are suffering from anxiety, fear, frustration and panic. Specific cases among youths are cropping where they are suffering from depression and frustration due to professional uncertainties.

To full feel the needs of the society, SVKM’s NMIMS Alumni Ms. Sridatta Gupta (Batch of 2016-2018), Senior Program Manager and her team to Parisar Asha is set to provide support to all these distressed individuals. After the lock down Parisar Asha shifted its regular Positive Parenting Helpline number (18005322244) to a mobile number 8828233443. Additionally, they have opened an online chat option www.parisarasha.com to reach out to many more individuals who need their help. Parisar Asha generally attend to 20-25 calls in a day and in some cases the follow ups are also happening regularly. Till date after the lock down they have extended their support to 475 individuals. Recently, they have also collaborated with COSA along with Maharashtra government to extend their support to the highly affected groups of migrant labourers in Mumbai, highly affected lockdown areas like Worli, Dadar and also over 1 lakh farmers from Palghar district. Parisar Asha is continuously trying to reach out to more and more sufferers by circulating our mobile number and online chat URL.
