MARKING THE THIRD DECADE OF QUALITY-MAKING: NMIMS CELEBRATES ITS 17TH UNIVERSITY DAY

SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed- to- be University celebrated its 17th University day today with great joy and gusto with the Chief Guest Padma Vibhushan Dr. G. Madhavan Nair, Former Chairman ISRO on 13th January 2020. Seventeen years ago, on this very day, NMIMS came to be deemed as a University; the journey that began in 1981 has become phenomenal in its true sense.
The program was graced with the presence of honourable dignitaries Dr. Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS; Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS; Dr. Subhajyoti Ray, Pro-Vice Chancellor, SVKM’s NMIMS; Dr. Ramesh Bhat, Provost & Dean, School of Business Management, Mumbai; Dr. Meena Chintamaneni, Registrar, SVKM’s NMIMS and the advisor of NMIMS Bengaluru campus Dr. N. Jayasankaran.
Dr. Rajan Saxena applauded the fact that NMIMS has transformed to a multidisciplinary institution with eight campuses more than 17000 students and new centers of education. NMIMS has now establishing new HRD Center in Bengaluru, and stated that, “This is a decade not only of growth, of sowing seeds of excellence, but of the quality we have upheld over the years and the trust we have maintained with the students and the society…”
The Chief Guest Padma Vibhushan Dr. G. Madhavan Nair enlightened everyone on the advantage of technology, R&D, and how the “marriage of management schools and research organizations can lead to better economy and achieve global standards…”

 

SVKM’s NMIMS and the advisor of NMIMS Bengaluru Campus Dr. N. Jayasankaran lauded the University for “not turning back and moving up the ladder at a tremendous speed, first with getting an A, A+ and now a Category1 Status, with never slipping on the quality…”

 

Dr. Sharad Mhaishkar, Pro Vice Chancellor declared the awards for the staff members as a gesture of recognizing their valuable contribution.

 

 

Finally, the Chief Guest Padma Vibhushan Dr. G. Madhavan Nair, former Chairman ISRO was cordially asked to unveil the journals of the new year which composed of NMIMS Management Review, Journal of Economics And Public Policy, NMIMS Engineering and Technology Review and We Care Civic Engagement Anthology Series Volume VII, 2020.

Talented students from the Student Council of NMIMS concluded the program with a bang, which included a prayer dance, shortfilms, a hip-hop and bhan gra dance fusion, a song just to name a few. All this lightened the moods of all and showcased the versatility of the students.
