Indore, 30 June 2026: SVKM’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Indore, welcomed the incoming MBA Batch of 2026–2028 through its Induction and Foundation Program, marking the beginning of a two-year academic journey focused on innovation, industry integration, responsible leadership, and technology-enabled learning.
As artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and changing workforce expectations continue to redefine industries globally, higher education institutions are increasingly reimagining learning experiences to prepare graduates for the future of work. At NMIMS, this vision is reflected through an academic ecosystem that combines rigorous classroom learning with experiential pedagogy, industry collaborations, interdisciplinary exposure, and technology-driven education designed to enhance employability, leadership skills, and lifelong learning.
The induction program introduced students to the academic framework, campus culture, student support ecosystem, industry engagement opportunities, and institutional values that will guide their MBA experience over the next two years.
Dr. Anshuman Jaswal, Director, NMIMS Indore, outlined,“An MBA is a journey that will challenge perspectives, test resilience, and create opportunities for growth. Over the next two years, students will be encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, embrace new experiences, and make the most of every opportunity the campus has to offer. Learning happens through classrooms, conversations, friendships, competitions, and moments of reflection. When students trust the process and engage wholeheartedly, the experience leaves a lasting impact.”
Dr. Niranjan Shastri, Program Chairperson, SBM, NMIMS Indore, mentioned,“The MBA course is as much about self-discovery as it is about acquiring knowledge and skills. Through this induction program, we hope students begin asking better questions, remain open to new ideas, and appreciate that management learning extends well beyond the classroom. The experiences, conversations, and relationships they build here will stay with them long after they graduate.“
Delivering the keynote address on ‘AI, GCCs & the Future of Work: What Every MBA Needs to Know,’ Mr. Sumit Sharma, a seasoned industry leader associated with one of the Big Four consulting firms, spoke about the rapid pace of technological change, the rise of Global Capability Centres (GCCs), responsible AI, and the capabilities future managers will need to remain relevant.
He highlighted, “The pace of change today is unlike anything we’ve seen before, and the careers of tomorrow will belong to those who can keep learning, adapting, and evolving. Technical knowledge will always matter, but so will curiosity, agility, and the willingness to continuously build new capabilities. Professionals who combine domain expertise with responsible leadership and the ability to evolve will be best positioned to thrive in an increasingly dynamic world.”
Beyond the inaugural keynote, the induction program included expert-led discussions on leadership, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, finance, marketing, business strategy, sustainability, communication, entrepreneurship, wellness, student success, and career readiness. Through interactions with faculty members, industry leaders, alumni, and academic mentors, students gained valuable insights into the changing business environment and the expectations of contemporary management education.
The program brought students face-to-face with senior professionals, entrepreneurs, and academicians from reputed organizations, whose expertise spanned consulting, technology, finance, healthcare, human resources, and business leadership. Drawing on their professional journeys, they shared practical perspectives that connected classroom concepts with real-world business challenges.
The induction also included foundational sessions on financial accounting, mathematical foundations, Excel and descriptive analysis, case-based learning, communication, mindfulness, and student well-being, ensuring students began their MBA journey with a balanced blend of academic preparedness, professional development, and personal growth. Complementing these sessions, interactive management games and sports activities encouraged teamwork, collaboration, leadership, and experiential learning.
With campuses across India, NMIMS continues to deliver industry-aligned education that combines academic rigor with practical exposure, preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy.
